Penn Hills scored its only points on a 25-yard field goal by Eric Vincent in the second quarter. Game was played on a clear night, 55 degrees, and stadium was 2/3rds full. |

On the game's second play from scrimmage, Nunley took a screen pass 59 yards through the center of North Hills' defense for the game's first touchdown. Adding another highlight-reel play to his night, Nunley fielded a North Hills kick inside the 20 and burned down the right side of the field for an 82-yard kick return touchdown. QB Kalkstein was 10 of 14 passing for 149 yards and two touchdowns of 59 yards to Dayonne Nunley and 26 yards to Steve Vranka. The Gators now advance to Heinz Field for the 3rd consecutive year. |

In the 2nd half, the Gators kicked off to McKeesport and promptly forced them to punt after 3 plays and from there started a 28 point burst behind big plays by Darin Franklin. By 1:40 of the 3rd the Gators invoked the mercy rule on the Tigers and started subbing in the JV's who shut out the hosts the rest of the way. When the JV's started subbing at 1:40 - McKeesport had 26 yards of total offense! This was the first time the Gators shut McKeesport out since 1986, the second time ever that the Gators shutout McKeesport in 33 total games dating back to 1975 - and coming into this game McKeesport was averaging 40 points per game. |

Shaler had 151 yards passing however most of those yards were after the Gators started subbing out the starters. Gateway’s scoreless streak was snapped at 165:24 minutes. Franklin finished with 107-yards rushing for Gateway, all in the first half, as the Gators rushed for 293-yards as a team. |

He added an 86-yard punt return in the second quarter to put Gateway up 14-0. Franklin did not play in the second half due to knee soreness. Gateway (9-2) assumed command in the second half with a 12-play, 65-yard drive that took 5:20 off the clock to start the third quarter. A 3-yard touchdown run by Patrick Livsey made the score 21-3 and Gateway never looked back. Penn Trafford (10-1) was led on the ground by Quarterback Zach Emerick's 95 yards on 12 carries. Manny Simpson added 71 yards on 23 carries. Gateway's defense pressured Emerick throughout the evening, holding the Penn Trafford quarterback to 38 yards passing. |

N.A. took the ensuing kickoff and started driving downfield, and on a 3rd and 10 play from the Gators 40, the Gators intercepted the N.A. pass but were flagged for a phantom pass-interference call, giving the Tigers a first down on the Gators 20. They proceeded to wind down the clock and score with 43 seconds remaining to win the game. On the 2nd play of the game Gators QB Woodson suffered a shoulder injury and was unable to throw the ball the rest of the game. He sat out until halftime and played the 2nd half. Also RB Franklin reinjured his right knee during a big run in the 3rd quarter and was lost for the rest of the game. The depth of N.A. certainly helped a bit in this game - they dressed around 100 players to the Gators 40. It was a tough way to end the season for the Gators. |
