Open Letter to 1985 Championship Football Team Members

The Gateway Sports Hall of Fame was founded eleven years ago with the induction of our first members in 1999. This year marks the ninth year for inductions. Each year, in addition to our athlete and coach inductions, the committee selects an outstanding team to be honored. Thus the reason for this letter. I take pride in announcing that your 1985 WPIAL Championship Football Team has been selected as the 2007 Gateway Sports Hall of Fame team induction. Through your efforts, along with yoar teammates, Gateway sports achieved a higher level of athletic excellence.

Your team will be honored at the 2007 Gateway Sports Hall of Fame banquet on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Churchill Valley Country Club. We are holding a complimentary ticket for you. If you can attend, please call Tony or Marcy Petrocelli at 412-373-3373 (day) or 412-373-3543 (evening). Additional tickets can be purchased for $ 40.00 each. Tables seat ten. Check in begins at 4:30PM. Dinner runs from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the induction program beginning promptly at 7:00.

Other information regarding the banquet will be published in our local newspaper along with various announcements throughout Pitcairn and Monroeville. Our banquet is a great time. This historic get-together with your teammates will probably happen only once. Hope you and your teammates can make it. This will be a special night.
